PRESIDENT'S ANNUAL REPORT - 2008

Dear Members of ISACA New Delhi chapter

It is honour for me to present Annual Report on the activities of the ISACA New Delhi chapter. The audited Accounts for the year ending 31st March 2008 has already been emailed to all the members and published on ISACA New Delhi website also. By now you must have gone through the same.

As on date the number of members in New Delhi chapter has grown up to 716 as compared to

The significant increased number of members in Delhi Chapter is a matter of pride for all of us as well as opportunity to make the chapter more vibrant and responsive to members quest for knowledge and development.

In today’s scenario of depressing economic environment there is a bigger challenge to Information Security and Control professionals to prove their place and contribution to the business world and the society in genral. It can be ensured if we can use our skill and knowledge which ensure aligning IT initiative with Business objectives and cost effective control of risks.

The chapter with in the guidelines of ISACA HQr has strived to achieve its objectives of Continuing Professional Education Program, conducting Review and Crash courses for CISA & CISM examination, and helping new aspirants through communication of information on various certification courses run by ISACA.

To achieve above objectives of the chapter, the Board has constituted following committees among its members.

Newsletter Committee
Publicity/Web master
Besides, above committee, the chapter Board has been supported by the Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasure, to look after various assigned activities & chapter’s Governance initiative, along with President, & Vice President and immediate Past President of the Chapter.

It may be mentioned all these members have volunteered for the work out of their most busy schedule and have done their best in their respective domain. However, we need not be complacent with present status of the chapter. There are number of initiatives which are pending with Chapter viz, review of Bylaws to suit present environment and bring more effectiveness to the chapter, enlargement of committee in line with new guidelines of ISACA, devising Accounting & Budget manual for better financial management, to recruit, initially, at least one staff on part-time basis to bring consistency and smoothness in operation of the chapter, etc.

During the year following CPE session were carried out for the benefit of members :-

03- May-08		Information Security- A Management Perspective
12-August-08		IT Governance & ERM- Enterprise Risk Management challenges and Controls Effectiveness.
10 - Jan-09		Achieving IT & Information Security Governance through Project Governance

For CISA & CISM examination scheduled in June 08 & Dec 08, Review & Crash Courses were organized at India Social Institute Premises. Number of candidates enrolled for the same were.

I had an opportunity to visit Toranto to attend ISACA Global Leadership Conference held in July 2008. It was a great opportunity to interact among various Chapter’s representatives from different Countries across different Continents and also to learn about Chapter administration & management tips from officers of ISACA Hqrs. I am sure that learning from this event will enable me to contribute constructively to the betterment New Delhi Chapters working in time to come.

I thank to all office bearers & members of the Board, Past Presidents, and members of the nomination Committee for their contribution to the Chapter. I also wish to place on record the valuable contribution made by the Auditors, M/s ALPS & Associates, Chartered Accountants.
